Hello! My name is Janine Aurichio, and I’m a recovering perfectionist and approval seeker.
I spent the first five decades of my life trying to get others' approval while thinking I had to control everything and everyone, and be perfect at it.
Guess what? That didn’t work out so well.
I had all the markers of traditional success. The MBA from Columbia University. The career as co-owner of a prestigious San Francisco interior design firm; and holding executive marketing roles for brands like Revlon, Victoria’s Secret Beauty and Godiva Chocolatier. On the outside, it looked like “success;” however I was constantly getting in my own way and blocking myself from true happiness and peak performance.
The problem? My Saboteurs–the Stickler, Controller and Pleaser.
The negative thinking and patterns of these characters was holding me back.
I was 35 pounds overweight, hadn’t slept well in years, and my whole body hurt. I felt frustrated or irritated most of the time and depressed the rest. My relationships suffered and I just wasn’t enjoying my life or my work.
That’s when I realized I wanted to be part of healing the world, and I wanted my work to reflect that, combining the things I loved most: beauty, wellness and being of service.
Graced with the resources, teachers and mentors to try a new way, I began the amazing journey to connect with my wiser self, the Sage, and to step away from reacting and forcing solutions. I became a Certified Life Coach, Mental Fitness Coach, and certified Intuition Medicine practitioner, and did the inner work to find my way out of old, stressful habits and into a life of ease, purpose and joy.
Launching YES2YUM was central to that new life–empowering Design Professionals, the Beauty Makers–to unleash the uniquely magnificent being they are, so that they can build the life and business of their dreams.
As an interior designer, I am intimate with the healing power of Beauty and the challenges of the industry.
